Fire stick connection to AVR

Can you plug Firestick directly into say the Blueray HDMI input on a DENON AVR-S710W INTEGRATED NETWORK AV RECEIVER and stream movies to TV and get surround sound? Tv is connected to DVR via hdmi and cable box.

Get good quality, short (like 1-feet) Male-Female HDMI cable, and use them to connect that stick, away from the receiver. It might not like the heat generated by the receiver.

If you have DVR, cable-box: You should connect everything thru the receiver (TV connected only to the receiver).
