Flashing Red light on Toshiba 55TL515U LED

My Toshiba 55in LED pretty much just stopped working one day. It is only 1 year old. It will NOT find a valid input signal, althought we have verified the validity of the signal (i.e. can route to another TV which does not complain). There is an LED that blinks periodically and methodically like it is searching all input avenues, but not finding anything.. I really hate to think something just croaked hardware-wise, but am willing to replace parts if necessary.

I haven't been able to find much information on this issue, but other Toshiba sets will go into a protection mode. Try unplugging for an hour, replugging the set in to see if you can fully reset.

If you're feeling up to the task, you can break out your trusty multitester, acquire a service manual, and start testing. If not, i'd just contact a local service center.
