Hi,
I accidentally broke the screen on my Hp omen 17 An009tx laptop and had to replace it.

The original screen was innolux N173HCE-G32 rev C.1 (17.3" 120hz 40pin G-sync enabled).
it is an IPS panel with 25ms response times.

this screen was difficult to come by, so i searched and found N173HHE-G32 screen (17.3" 120hz 40 pin G-sync enabled) and it was a TN panel with 5ms.
I asked a couple people and they said it is compatible.

So i bought it and it works well, except there is no G-sync anymore.
anything i can do to make it work again? a Bios issue? whitelist issue?--> can i overcome this?

any help is appreciated

Hi,

this screen was difficult to come by, so i searched and found innolux N173HHE-G32 rev C.4 screen (17.3" 120hz 40 pin G-sync enabled) and it was a TN panel with 5ms.
I asked a couple people and they said it is compatible.

So i bought it and it works well, except there is no G-sync anymore.

Stick to one thread, please!

You may want to try and uninstall and reinstall your GPU drivers are see if the functionality resurfaces. Did you contact HP for a replacement panel?

Sorry about that, intended to keep the latter only, thought it might be more hardware related.
yes i did reinstall the GPU drivers and no gain.

as for the screen, i did not get the replacement from HP, as i'm in middle east and the whole back and forth would take quite a long time. so I just ordered screen from amazon. apparently on their website, this laptop supposedly has HP compaq 922934-001 screen (which was not the case for my laptop and still had g sync)
