Hello Everyone!
I'm looking for a mid range laptop which can perform well in medium-low settings in gaming and of coarse in other things like picture editing etc. Mainly work and play centric. Anyhow i'm at a tight budget. Im looking for a laptop that fits in the range of 1000-1350 (AUD). I have found 2 laptops which were the following:
Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series 7447
- 850m (4gb)
-I7-4710HQ
- 8GB ram
-----------------------------
And;
----------------------------
Asus ROG G550JK
- 850m (2GB)
-i7-4710HQ
----------------------------
Let me know which ones the best deal,
OR if you have a better deal/laptop for similar figures Let me Know :)
Thanks!

Both should perform similarly.

Which size do you prefer? The 14" Dell should weigh in at around 5lbs and the 15.6" Asus is probably 6lbs. That makes the Dell more easily portable if you plan on taking it around with you.

The 15.6" Asus has a number pad which you may or may not like. Some people want laptops that have a number pad while others do not. One downside of having a number pad is the trackpad is off center.

The extra 2GB of VRAM on the Dell will not do you any good for games because the GTX 850m is too weak to let you play games at 1080p and ultra graphic settings. But it can come in handy if you work with large graphic files in programs like Photoshop where you can apply a lot of filters.

I really think that if you search more you will find one with gtx 860m and it is much better than gtx 850m. I even think think that you can get a laptop with better quality and these specs at 1200 (I mean not the cheapest you will find on the market). Also, you should check other brands except from the usual. For example, I fould a gigabyte slim and fancy laptop with i7 4710hq, gtx 980m, 16 gb ram, ssd + hdd for 1600$. I know this laptop is not for you, but if you have a look at laptops with gtx 980m you will be surprised by its price
