Solved! Gateway restore partition

Hello,
Vista laptop after being upgraded to 7 will not let me run the restore software, the partition is intact. The gateway bios driven software seems to try and load but 7 takes over and boots
how can I get this laptop back to vista with only the partition to work with

To access the partition, you have to hit f5 or whatever the function key is to access the restore partition at the splash screen when you first start up the computer.
