green led light on adapter box fades

The green led light on box for power cord for acer aspire 5735-4624 fades shorty after i plug in to laptop then goes out completely and laptop will not charge or power on...what can i do?

Replace the adapter. Sound like it has bad caps. Ebay is a great source.
