Has my new Surface Laptop been used?

Dear Community,

I just purchased a new surface laptop. It was shrink wrapped and appeared to be new when i opened it. I checked with a SMART HDD Tool and discovered that the HDD was booted up 13 Times and that it ran for a total of 5 Hours.

Also the windows system logs show some activity on various days on May.
Is that related to the testing that the device underwent in the factory or has the laptop been used before i received it ?

Yes a drive will show activity, it has to be formatted and installed with the operating system by the laptop vendor. How can you get a system with something installed on it without the drive being used? You would get a blank system otherwise.
