Have a Samsung Boost Galaxy Rush phone. cannot transfer pics to sd card. Also can you transfer apps to a sd card. Memory keeps

Put in a new sd card and tried to transfer pics and apps. will not let me do so. Also phone keeps saying almost out of memory when the data say got plenty space. Have little knowledge of this type phone. Need help. 🙂

Did you format the card first? Does it show up in the phone as a storage device?
