Having trouble getting audio when I connect my HDMI mini cable from my computer to TV

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me? I recently purchased an HDMI A to HDMI mini cable to connect to my ASUS zenbook, so I can watch movies on my Panasonic Vierra TV.

When I connect it to my Panasonic tv the display of my laptop appears but when I play a movie the audio is still synced to the tv. I have a Yamaha Receiver (HTR-6180) How do I change the audio from the tv to my pc?

In most installations your sources (bluray, pc, etc) connect to the receiver and then to the TV with HDMI. If you connect the PC that way it will work properly. Your other alternative is to connect the TV audio output (usually optical digital) to the receiver.
