Hdmi cable not showing

Hi there,on Saturday my computer shop re-installed windows seven saying it was old and slow like myself.Wish i had never done,among st a raft of disasters is that my hdmi cable(plugged in) is not recognized in my playback devices

I've done all the usual things we all do.
Is my sound card out of date.i'm 65 so please be gentle with me!

Dear Cockers,thanks for your time,no i have not tried a different cable,its under door stops and down walls so its going to be a pain,i will try in the next few days and let you know.
It just seems a bit to coincidental that it stopped working after my re-install.I live in Bulgaria and the computer shop i went to take a pride in surly customer service,but it looks like i'm going to have to go back there.

Dear Cockers,I thought i would let you know that the problem was not the cable(thankfully) ,it was my AMD Catalyst Control Center. The settings had been unset.

I found some one who came round to my house and fixed within 5 minutes
