I have a laptop that when it's hooked up to a tv with an hdmi cable it doesn't recognize it at all. Also it doesn't even show up in the playback and i can't set it as a default because the button has been greyed out. Also the sound only comes through the laptop and not the tv

Solution
Hi,

Do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving that issue.
- Start by uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver.
- Reboot your laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- After the reboot connect the HDMI cable, press the Windows key + P at the same time and select between Duplicate or Extended display then press Enter.
- Next is to right click on the speaker icon and see if HDMI or the name of your TV will be listed. Set it as the default playback device and click Apply and OK.
