HDTV bad mount

MY parents went and bought a 72inch HD TV, but they mounted in such a way as the HDMI port is not accessible only RGB cords. I have searched for RGB to HDMI but it is unclear if this will work and actually make it HD. Any solutions?

Would a 90degree angle connector help reach the HDMI.

And no HDMI to rgb would look horrible and a lot of devices would either downgrade the quality of it or not play at all due to hdcp copyright protection.
