Solved! Headset Mic wont pic up

So my headset used to work just fine and I just rebuilt my pc fully. I previously did have windows 10, (I have seen other threads about this). The problem is that my headset speakers are working but I am unable to get my mic connected to anything. Inside of windows privacy setting I already have "microphone access" turned on and to "allow apps to access your microphone on". So I am clueless why it wont be picked up.

Where did you connect the microphone plug into? back of the motherboard or front panel? Try both.
Set the mic in "SOUND" devices of windows to the default recording device
