Headset Siberia Elite very very LOW sound !!!!! HELP!!!

Hi guys, i bought a Siberia Elite headset and using USB conecction sounds very very LOW, even at 2.0 and dolby off. I dont know what else to do, but 7.1 sounds so low that even my apple cheap headphones had lowder sound.

Any ideas??

I have a asus p8z77v-lx motherboard (using realtek drivers) and windows 8.1 64 bits.

BTW, if i use the headset on my iphone with 3.5mmm it sounds very good, louder and clear.

any ideas guys? do it need a sound card with head amp or something? right now i have the headset via 3.5mm (green and pink) to the motherboard and im using razer surround and sounds nice 😵

it may be your volume settings ,

right click desktop/personalize/sounds/playback/ select headphones then properties , check balance tab and volumes
check the configure tab also

Hi. Yes! 3.5mm sounds a lot better and louder. USB sounds low, but 7.1. With 3.5mm i only get 2.0 sound. =/

Do you think a sound card will fix this? you know, emulating 5.1/7.1 sound with software? (like asus sound card software)

Read the manual. there is a hidden volume knob on the right headphone speaker

a sound card will give you better quality audio than your onboard sound , asus xonar and creative x-fi make good internal and external sound cards

If USB is too low, use the 3.5mm jacks. USB is a bad way to connect audio gear to a computer anyway IMO, as it necessitates that the speaker/microphone has and uses a DAC built into the device, which more than likely isnt going to be as good as whatever is in your computer. Plugging in a USB headset bypasses whatever audio gear you have in your machine.

A Sound Card will definitely help in this case, though since your trying to make it louder, what you really looking for is a headphone Amplifier. Which in a nutshell, just drives more power to the headphones. Most low end sound cards have these, I use an ASUS Xonar DGX and its the main reason I bought it.

Just remove the USB Soundcard V2 that come with the Siberia Elite / 650 and plug the directly into the audio port via 3.5mm jack. Then just ensure your playback audio settings are set to Dolby 5.1 / 7.1 (depending if your soundcard can support this) in Windows. You will instantly notice louder volume and get the most out of these bad boys. The usb sound card provided with the Elite headset is very cheap and no where near the quality as a proper soundcard or your onboard motherboard sound.

Since doing this I am loving this headset now and getting the most out of them with regards to performance.

I concur, the sound is horrendously bad through the USB interface, especially with Dolby switched on. I had the best results running it through my z906 hub using Optical input @ 24bit 96000hz.

The pre-amp on the z906 allows Dolby, DTS and allows full output from the headset drivers. Good mids, but the base is flat and weak.

I know the problem! on the right side of the headset there will be a wheel, spin it until your sound is at full! a lot of people dont know about the wheel so it may be why your sound is really low

I had a similar issue. Very low sound output, but it had been louder when I first bought it. I thought perhaps a software update had done something to the output. Come to find out, 1 of my children had been wearing the headset and inadvertently set the balance nearly all the way to 1 side. Once I discovered this, I fixed it and it performs perfectly.

Hey all, I had similar problem, where the headphone audio was nearly inaudible. I discovered that the headphones allow you to change balance between the audio inputs (for controlling the volume levels between media/game audio and "chat audio" input). The balance was set all the way over to the chat volume (far right), which resulted in the standard media volume being ultra low. Setting it back to the far left, it's nicely loud once again.
