Headset with Mic or Individual Mic + Headset?

Hello folks, I did not know where to post this, or if i even should post this on TomsHardware, so if im doing anything wrong, i apologize and will take actions (As in moving the post or delete it completely) if im instructed to.
But i'll Try

I just bought a new computer which will arrive tomorrow.
I never had a good rig, but the one i bought should be able to do everything, and since i sing alot in my spare time, i was wondering if i should buy a Mic and headset, so i could start some amateur recording. It's only as a hobby, really, And i'm not planning on going "big and famous" with my music. The only thing i do is Sing or Rap, pretty much any genre you can find. But since i never worked with recording i dont know what would be a good "Starter Kit".

Also i should probably mention that i dont play any instruments, so its solely for vocal use.
I plan on doing either covers or use some instrumentals some of my friends are recording.

And at the same i'm obviously going to do some gaming, since i havent been "gaming" on a computer for many many years, and for that i suppose i'll need a decent headset with a mic. But if i buy a kit for recording, would it be possible to use the headset i use for recording, for gaming also? And then just use the recording mic? Insteadt of buying a Gaming headset and a Recording mic+Headset?

If i would be able to do so, i could spend a few more bucks on the Recording stuff.

Any advice would be appreciated.

P.S. If you guys know of some good recording kits and have a few advice on what i should have in mind when buying or using this, or a place to buy them Online within the EU that would just be fantastic.

If this is for vocal use solely I say a dedicated headset and mic not a combination. Those headsets with built in mics are not designed to pick up crystal clear voices. If the quality of the sound from your or a friends voice is crucial then I recommend a dedicated mic. I hope that helps make your decision.

Well, lets say i bought a Headset and a Mic for recording. Could i use it for when i'll be gaming also? I mean, will i be able to do online chatting within a game using the same mic i use for recording?

Yes I don't see why not. You can right click the little speaker (sound options icon bottom right side of your screen in the startup programs taskbar) after installing all your drivers. Select "Playback devices", then you can right click the appropriate audio devices and select the headset for "default device" (I think that's what it says exactly) and select the mic for "default communication device" if I am not mistaken! Hope this answers your question!

your best choice is to likely buy a good pair of headphones and a decent desk mic.

we would need to know what kind of sound profile you like, your budget and preferences.

by buying a "headset" and a "microphone" you're essentially buying a microphone twice. you may as well just buy seperates. while it can certainly be done, it wouldnt be my first recommendation.
