Good afternoon !

2 years ago I bought an Asus ROG G771JM with Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM DDR3 and a GeForce GTX 860M 4GB.

From what I've seen on YouTube this laptop should be able to play PUBG on Low or Very Low with 40+ FPS but it doesn't. I haven't used the laptop in more than 6 months, but I can tell you that it had the same problems then as it has now:
- it gets hot very fast, even in idle
- it is very slow all-round (in day-to-day usage like googling)
- I can't play any games anymore (not even CS:GO, or League of Legends) on Very Low/Low settings

When I say I can't play it means that I have like 15-20 fps, drops, stutters, crashes, freezes.

I've got all the drivers up to date. I'm using Windows 10 x64.

What do you think is wrong with it ? Thank you !

By default your laptop will use the Intel HD 4600 GPU on the CPU for everything, obviously that's not cutting it for games.

You have to manually assign the GTX GPU to your games in the Nvidia Control Panel, or right-click the game shortcut and choose GTX 860M from the context-menu.

PUBG shortcut is a Steam shortcut and it doesn't have the context menu for choosing a GPU. But from Nvidia Control Panel I've chosen PUBG launcher to run using the Nvidia GPU. And the results are the same.

Clock speeds are default, I've not tweaked them in any way.
Hot like you can't touch the laptop or you can fry an egg on it. 90 degrees Celsius for both the CPU and GPU.

The clocks when I run PUBG are:
- CPU: anything between 700 MHz to a peak of 2000 MHz , but the average is 1500 MHz.
- GPU: Clock: 600 MHZ ; Memory: 2500 MHz

I have no idea how to do that, that's why I posted here in the first place.
Sorry !

Update 1:
I've looked for ROG G771JM on https://www.asus.com/support/ but I could not find it.

And on this page: https://www.asus.com/ro/support/Download/3/737/0/1/45/ I found bios update 203 which is from 2015. I bought the laptop in March 2015 and I already have BIOS 203.

Update 2:

I have no FAN Control Setting in BIOS. From what I've read the laptop has the fan settings embedded in the firmware and aren't accessible.
