Low frequency energy produced by a sub woofer must "fit" into your room. You are producing long and large waves of energy and then squeezing this energy into a box (room). Forget about the size of your video screen and look at the size and volume of your room for answers.

If your budget is in the $200 range of the three you list go with the Polk. Don't worry about the power rating (they almost all lie) or the size of the woofer (a smaller high quality speaker will play louder than a larger cheaper one). Downfiring subs shake the floor but usually are boomy sounding and can be annoying as the bass overpowers the overall sound. Forward firing is more accurate and flat.
