Help with DVD Drive

My ASUS notebook does not recognize any DVD movie.

Can your driver read other media like music cds, data dvds etc?

Yes. It can play a music cd.

Have you checked if it is a software problem or if your -not recognized- dvds are recognized in other dvd drivers?

I spoke to ASUS support and they are telling me to do a factory reset of my computer. I tried the movies in another ASUS laptop and they worked fine. The CD-ROM drive works fine but it does not recognize the DVD movies. It recognizes any other disc I put in.
Do you have any suggestions?

I have the exact same problem on my ASUS K55DR. Did you find a solution?? I would be very interested in that...
