Help with standby in XP

When I set my laptop, XP w SP2, to Standby....it goes into Standby. Problem is that no matter what key I hit, my PC won't come out of Standby. I just have to hold the power button down for about 10 seconds until the power light goes off and then push the power button on and everything is OK. ?????

I've never got standby to work right on desktops. I'd just not use it.

I've had similar issues when using XP rigs.. like 4745454b said.. Better to just not use it. I think there was an update for XP that was supposed to fix the problem, but I can't confirm it. Try using Hibernate.
