canon camera fault. I've got a Canon EOS digital Rebel xt that stopped showing colour photos on the view screen and on download.

Have you checked to ensure the shooting mode isn't in manual and B&W? As we've all done that before!

Failing that, scroll through the menu then reset to factory settings and see if that solves it.
