My budget is somewhere between 700 and 900 but with taxes the laptop should be under 1000
The games I would like to play are like bf4 or insurgency but I want the gpu more for high res video than gaming
And I need, at the minimum, 7 hours of battery life

Also note other than the alienware 13, the other laptops have somewhat less than 7 hours of battery life. Some Acer V Nitros are reported to have 7 hours of battery life but it seems to be a hit or miss. Gaming laptops generally just don't have that great battery lives because of the power requirements. If you are willing to shell out more money, I would recommend Razer Blade 14 which has excellent battery life but its very costly.
