Hisense TV -> Philips Soundbar via ARC not working

Hi All,

I’ve purchased a new Hisense n7 4K 55inch TV. I also have a Philips soundbar which has arc capabilities, as does the tv.

When I connect them (to the correct arc ports) and turn the sound settings to arc (on both devices), no sound occurs. Absolutely nothing!

Have I done something wrong, or what can I do to fix it!?

Try turning the TV speakers off.
Try changing the audio output type in the TV menu.
Make sure you have selected ARC as your source in the soundbar.

Called Hisense and they cant help either, guided me thru every possibilities...so is it the TV or the Yamaha at fault?
