you want to use the theater as speakers for the computer. yes it is possible. If you have an optical port on your pc that would work. what the computer specs(model) that you are thinking about hooking up?

Oh, okay. As far as the particular device, the link is here:

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-HT-E5500W-Channel-Blu-ray-1000-Watt/dp/B0076R7K26/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=QB391362EWFG&coliid=I1IEZ2JO4I9F8B

I'm hooking that up to a computer I built myself to which I do not know (to my embarrassment) whether or not it has an optical port (or I guess it the motherboard? supports optical). I'll check when I get home.

What you guys are saying is if th pc has an optical port I can plug directly from pc to bluray player on home theater and if not, I can connect HDMI from computer to TV, and optical from TV to the Bluray player, and that should work, even though it's basically like a Bluray player functioning as a receiver?

Thanks very much for the responses.
