I was wondering if anyone knew how i could try and make an FM antenna from coaxial cable at home. this stereo system wasnt following the standards as far as antennas go. i might have 75ohm cable lying around somewhere but im not sure how or IF its possible to make an antenna with it.

No i dont want AM reception (idk what AM is really...)

Slam a length of cable into a plug that will fit and you'll get FM. In fact it'll probably work with tin foil, usb cable or an old fork.

I TRIED THE FORK THING AND I ALMOST DIED.

just kidding lol hilarious.

so i cant just stick a coat hanger into the port eh? id have to jam it instal a coaxial cable am i right?

Get a 300 ohm twin lead connector and try the AM antenna or make a loop like the loop like the AM antenna of 6 inches square. Another one is get a coax cable and connect it to your cable outlet.

Solution

As mentioned to my earlier post is to connect the coax to wall terminal, as it'll work better than indoor antenna.
