Hello, i guess this is a topic well talked before, but i'm wondering how to
free some memory on my AXIM X30

I have the High version with wifi 624 mhz and also i had a 256 MB SD card
installed which is totally free.

I would like to free memory from some programs and storage at the main
memory

it has 63.41 MB where 31.63 is allocated for storage and 22.99 is in use,
also 31.78 is allocated on program where 22.04 is in use and 9.74 free.

Is any way i can use my SD card to free some of this memory, i guess the PPC
will work better, or i'm wrong? My built in storage has 30.88 MB where only
1.23 MB is in use and 29.65 free.

If you know a way to do it, i'll appreciate if you can give me step by step
to do it correctly.

Also if you know software to monitor the battery,

THANKS a lot!!!

Sincerely

Sergio

If you want to, you can install software onto your storage card. That may
free some of your storage memory. The program memory works like RAM on your
desktop, where it fills up as needed by the system. The other option is to
store data files on your SD card, which is what I do since I often don't
have many programs installed.

I doubt very much if you'd see any improvement. My older Casio EM500
only HAS 16 MB and it works fine. The ppc is actually quite good at
using memory. Very little storage memory is needed -- under 1 MB --
just enough for temporary files created by some applications. Program
memory is more important if you leave a lot of things running but I
often have 3 or 4 apps open and have no problems with less than 3 MB
free.

As the other poster said, most applications can be installed on the
card--either during the install or just by cutting and pasting them over
there and then rebuilding the shortcut. There are a FEW that need to be
in main memory, especially those that have hooks into the bootup/startup
routine. And any data that doesn't need to be synced, like maps or
music or pictures etc, can go there. Also check out a program called
MightySync--it's an add-on to Activesync that allows files on the card
to be synced--not as quickly as main memory but it works.
