I have a lenovo z585 laptop and want to switch to a ssd on the laptop. I am trying to do a system install using the manufacturer operating system recovery disc. I changed the boot order to have the cd drive load first. Once I save the settings and try to boot the system it is ignored and brings me back to the boot menu. Does anyone knw how I can get the disc drive to use the system recovery disc to load onto my new blank ssd? Please let me know if you need more info

1) Are you sure the recovery disc is bootable?

2) How many recovery discs are there in total?

3) Did you make them yourself or were they factory-supplied?

Not directly related to your problem as such, but be aware that factory recovery may require considerably more drive space than the your SSD can provide (the SSD capacity is usually considerably less than the factory installation on your existing hard drive).
