How do I connect an XLR mic to my PC?

Hello, I have gotten an AKG C214 condenser mic along with a 48v phantom power supply. The internet has not been helpful. I am not sure whether I need a mixer or audio interface.

I was thinking I could get a male-to-female XLR cable from the mic to the power supply and a male XLR to USB from the power supply to the PC.

Would that work in the meantime?

I've spent most of my money on the mic and accessories with $16 left to spare. MUSICIANS and anyone with KNOWLEDGE on this topic reply.

i've heard of users who have 48v power supplies having issues getting them to work unless using xlr to usb.

an all around better choice than using a 48v power supply is having a good audio interface instead though.
