I have a Toshiba smart tv 2016 model 55L421U, I have tried everything imaginable to hook up this tv to my receiver, best buy is saying use HDMI cable but we don't have those type of hook ups on the yamaha, only coaxial cables, do I need to buy a special cable to get the video working on the tv?

Solution
In order to display devices currently connected to your receiver (DVD, Game console, VCR, etc) on your new TV. You'll need to convert the analog output from the receiver to HDMI for the TV. All you need is one of these.

If you're currently using the Yellow, Red, White cable from your receiver to your old TV, get this:

If you're currently using S-Video and Red and White, get this:

If you're using Red, Blue, Green component and Red,White then get this...
Unfortunately your Yahama is obsolete, it's an analog, old-school receiver that doesn't play nice (to put it nicely) with modern TV/others which use digital HDMI.

So, your ultimate mission is, buy a more updated AV receiver.

In the perchance and you are in a tight budget, not able to purchase right now, still want to use this old Yahama... maybe, but you must answer all of my questions or am out. Tell me what you are planing to plug in into this AV system (cable box, BlueRay, Turnbable, Game console etc) list each one, don't skip.
