Solved! How do I get the upper accent keys in French and German on Asus Zenpad 3S 10 ?

Asus onscreen keyboard does not tell you how to get the various accent keys in French and German. The symbols are shown in the top right of the keys but no evident way to get to them

You could try Control and Shift. Are there two colours on the keys and if so, does one of those colours match that on the Fn or Control keys?
