How do TV, Internet, and Phone service get their signals?

I currently have Time Warner for everything. I want to keep the Internet from Time Warner, but get cable TV and phone service from AT&T UVerse (fiber optic). I have single coax outlets throughout the house. I have had AT&T in the past and Time Warner currently, but never co-mingled. Can this be done?

Yeah, but you will literally have two services and two separate modems. The wireless may conflict, but everything wired and you should be OK. Of course each provider will have to run the service to your home as one cable will not do both. As a matter of fact, the fiber optic will be different anyway. The cables in your walls will not do both services.

yes but will cost more. the At&T U-verse bundle including their fiber optic internet will 90% of the time be cheaper than having their tv & phone plus paying separately for internet. but you can use them and another company with no problem. they will definitely both(AT&T & TW) fight to get you to choose them for the full service package though. you may end up with a rather cheap 2 year contract from one of them when you explain what you want to do.

U-verse doesn't use coaxial for anything. the main cable box runs from an ethernet cable directly connected to the modem. then the other cable boxes use wireless internet to connect. the modem itself uses the fiber optic cable.

If I go to AT&T for the bundle, I was told that their Internet speeds are much slower than Time Warner. I have 300 Mpbs with Time Warner (although speed tests never go over 30) and the best AT&T has is 45 Mbps. Do these numbers really mean much to the end user? I can save $ with AT&T bundle, but I am torn because of the theoretical sacrifice to speed. I have a granddaughter playing Roblox, Minecraft, etc. online on a PC, plus we have 2 laptops, ipad, and iphone using WIFI (not all at once). How all devices share signal is a mystery to me.

call both. explain the situation to them. have them both send out a sales technician to explain what the changes will be and what they are prepared to offer to get, or to keep, your business.

write down what they promise you. if either of their service doesn't hold up to that they will be willing to offer something as compensation or end the service for free.
