how to connect an external hdd (without external power supply) to galaxy note pro 12.2

I trying to connect my external hdd to my galaxy note pro 12.2, the hdd powers up from its USB access and doesn't have an external power supply. Any help would be much appreciated, Help!!! I am so lost with this lol

I am guessing it did not work.
Did you try a powered USB hub.
