How to connect PC with 5.1 audio output to a Philips HTS3106 blu ray player with home theater

Intro:
I have MSI motherboard with a 5.1 audio output. And I have a Phillips HTS3106 player, which has two audio inputs one is AUX audio in(a red and white input) and the other is a Digital coaxial in. There are 5 speakers and sub-woofer connected to the blu-ray player. Edit: The bluray player has 3.5 mm Jack input too.

Question:
My question is what is the best way to connect my PC to the Blu-ray player so that I can use all the speakers in a way that i can take advantage of all the speakers? Is there a way i use the 3.5 mm jacks to get 5.1 audio?

What I currently do:
What I currently have is 3.5 jack with AUX audio output and I plug it in the front of case and set it on stereo on my PC (with Realtek HD audio manger) and use just the front two speakers and all the other speakers are not being used at all. If I set it 5.1 and iuse this plug it still uses only the front two speakers.

The 3.5mm jack and your Aux audio jack are both 2channel stereo only. The only way I can see it work is to use the digital coax in. Does your motherboard have a digital audio out jack on the back?

Hey Rob, My mother board is MSI H87-G43. It doesn't have digital coax out. The only audio output is 1 x 6 in 1 audio jack.

The only way I can think of doing it is to use the HDMI out on the motherboard. Run it thru a HDMI to SPDIF Audio Output converter. http/www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Premium-Audio-Extractor-Converter/dp/B00AHS8LD8

Then convert the SPDIF (optical) to digital coax with something like this : http/www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Toslink-Coaxial-Converter/dp/B000I98ZQY.

I searched for about an hour for a single convertor or cable that would do the job, but couldn't find one. I also can't vouch for the quality of the examples I gave you. Also keep in mind that if you are using the integrated video, you would have to output the video thru the DVI port. Make sure your motherboard supports using both the HDMI and DVI at the same time. I'm sorry I couldn't find a simpler way to do this. The lack of additional inputs on the Phillips system kind of limits you. One more thought, you could look for an audio card for the PC that outputs either Spdif or digital coax. Might be cheaper then a lot of cables and converters.
