How to edit CD audio tracks?

i had a tape of some music that was recorded in 1975 its now on a cd its original music i would like to edit the songs change the way the bass sounds the drums etc. clean it up a bit is that possible to do on my computer with a program i can download paul

Yes. You should try Sonic Foundry's Acid for a PC, or Garage Band for the Macintosh.

You could try Audacity since it is freeware.
