Hello guys,

I'm trying for some time to find a solution to the following problem, and i hope i will be as specific as i can.

I have an old Sound/Audio/Hi-Fi System with great sound (Technics Amp + Dynaudio Speakers) and i want to be able to play music from youtube via Wi-Fi on it - i use Musi App on Apple Iphone, which relies on Youtube. So the first problem here that came to my mind is that i'm trying to play the "audio" from the youtube video in the Sound System and not directly audio (like songs from the phone's memory, Spotify or other "just music no video" apps).

I did some research and i found that, the simplest way is to connect a bluetooth adapter via jack to the Sound Systems, connect the Iphone to it and play music. Again, i'm not sure here if youtube can play on the Sound System, but, unfortunately, i read that the audio quality will suffer because of the bluetooth compression. I've abandoned the ideea and headed to the allegedly better way - wi-fi streaming (less compression).

I saw that there are a few gadgets that i can buy - Google Chromecast Audio (is not produced anymore), Audiocast M5, or Yamaha WXAD-10. I'm not sure if these will solve the problem because, as i said, the App i'm using (Musi) or Youtube are based on Video content, not audio content.

If you have some ideas guys, i will really appreciate them.

Thanks a lot!

Andrei

These support Airplay so may work for you. Easy to connect to your amp.
https://www.amazon.com/M5-Audiocast...ywords=airplay+receiver&qid=1579970655&sr=8-3
You could also use a BlueOS Node2
or Denon HeosLink
https://usa.denon.com/us/heos-link
which add direct streaming from many services, support HiRes streaming and playback, and can be used as a server for music files.
Of course you could also go old school and use a cable.

I'll try to find the first two in my country, because from Amazon.com is quite a challenge. Node and Heos are a bit too expensive and i don't think i'll use so many features. Is it a difference between the first two (30-50 usd) and the last two in terms of sound quality?
And...i see muzo cobblestone has DAC and Audiocast is non-DAC. What is DAC doing for me in this situation. Because is Digital-to-Analog, is it mandatory to have DAC onboard? (i play from digital-youtube- to Sound System)

Thanks!
