So, I just bought a new hometheatre system for my tv. The thing is I use tv decoder(Home Cable HD samsung GX-FM530CF) from my internet service provider to watch movies. I tried using the mono stereo sound using rca cables and it runs well, sounds came out normally. But when I try to use the surround sound feature, it makes no sound at all. I already plug in Audio Digital Optical cable for the surround sound, but it still makes no sound. Have you guys runs into the same problem?

Did you turn the optical audio output on?
Did you set it to output in bitstream surround sound? Check the surround sound setting in the HTS too.
You don't say to what you connected the HTS with optical.
If you use the TV optical out then you will get sound from all your sources not just the Samsung box.
