Hello Everyone,

Let me first say, thank you for reviewing my post!

What I am trying to do, when I am at work; I want to save my OneNote notebooks to OneDrive. I do not want to save them there locally. My school has Office365 with SharePoint integration.

When I am at home, working on my notebooks, I want to backup and save them here locally, but make the changes reflecting what is saved in OneDrive. When I am at work; I have the most recent changes. I believe this can be done with the advanced options. I am not saavy with OneNote and Office365.

Thanks,
Joe

My thought is that you need more of a "backup solution" than a "synchronization" solution.

A backup solution would be where you configure your system to place copies of your work in designated folders on other devices.

A synchronization solution will ensure that changes to your work will be placed in all locations. Your software may or may not permit you to exclude folders (i.e., work folders) from your synchronization.

Read and then diagram your required backups and synchronizations. Then find and configure the necessary settings on all devices.

Thanks for the reply! Okay, but some of the functionality is not available on the online version. If I use the, "Open in OneNote," will this still save a local cache copy to the system I am working on, or will it all be saved to the cloud? The online version if very useful, but some of the functions I use in OneNote are not available.

Thank you for the reply! I have all my note books pointing to my OneDrive, so they are getting backed up there. I am wondering when I access my OneNote from home, if I have my local cache copy stored there if OneNote will try to store a local cache copy on my work computer. Suggestions??? I do not want any of my notes stored on my work computer.
