How to unhook convrtor box from flat screen tv, i dont want cable or free channe

I currently have a tube tv, with no cable & no convertor box for the free channels. I don't like whats on tv, don't want it. I just want to watch my dvd's & vhs movies. If I buy a new flat screen, is there any way to unhook the convertor box to stop the channels (all channels) from coming in?

There is nothing to disconnect. Just don't connect any antenna or cable connection to the TV at all. Connect your DVD and VCR and you are done.
