Hp pavillion dv7 notebook wont power up after new power jack harness.

I have found many Problems with this unit but why can I not get any power to the power button and could someone please tell me what to check? I found bad usb connecter and unhooked. all else looks okay. how do you check the motherboard.?

Charger faulty (test with VOLTMETER) OR needs new charging jack soldering in as a guess....

Hey Brett! wow thanks for the info. It has a new power jack harness that plugs in and a led that lights up very bright. Also getting power around the front of the hp dv7 near the usb and audio card. but none top the power button. I suspect that the mother board has been damaged and the fan does not even budge at all. I am getting scatter brained and may need to just walk away. lol Thanks Pal. Scott
