HP vs MSI

Hello everyone. I'm looking to buy a pretty cheap laptop that will be used mostly for work. Maybe for some gaming, but im not sure yet. I have narrowed these two choices and I dont know which one is better. Any help is appreciated. Yeah I know that HP has intel graphics, but the processor is so much better plus it has 12 ram.

I would get the MSI one as 12GB isn't really needed and it's better to have a dedicated GPU.
If you're gonna use the laptop for work only,then you can go with whichever one you want,since Intel HD graphics are meant for work,internet browsing and light gaming.
If you're gonna use it for work and gaming,then the MSI is a better choice.
What games would you want to play(if you decide to play them)?

I would get the MSI one as 12GB isn't really needed and it's better to have a dedicated GPU.
If you're gonna use the laptop for work only,then you can go with whichever one you want,since Intel HD graphics are meant for work,internet browsing and light gaming.
If you're gonna use it for work and gaming,then the MSI is a better choice.
What games would you want to play(if you decide to play them)?

Well the only game that I would play most likely is Counter Strike Global Offensive. Nothing too major. I have my PC for that

Well, the Intel graphics won't game and the MSI one has low end NVidia graphics designed for PowerPoint presentations (my opinion, of course).

For that price, I would consider an Acer like this:

It is a little less expensive, still has an i5 CPU and an NVidia 840m GPU - so it can play most games at medium settings. Plus, 8GB of memory should be fine unless you are into memory intensive applications (and you can always upgrade it to 16GB in the future).

You can also look into Lenovo, their Y series is quite impressive for the price. Not sure if it is still going on but they had an i7u, 256GB Liteon SSD, Radeon R275m, 8GB of ram for about $800 a while back.

For office stuff and general word processing, certainly. The i5 has a turbo frequency of 2.7Ghz, so the only drawback to it is when using multi-threaded applications like Photoshop.

That is impressive, but the screens on the Lenovo Y series are less than stellar. I think that people should take a look at a Y40 or Y50 at a shop like Best Buy before buying one, some people don't mind the screen - but others do.

Out of the two I would go with the hp as you are only playing cs go which is a low powered game and for work the i7 is a lot stronger than the cpu in the msi
