What is the problem?

My problem is that I have a HUGE battery drain going on right now. It started during forenoon when I told my friend I have unusual amount of battery left (never below 50%!) Well I came home and plugged in cable so I could load battery. Here is the thing: it loads so slow that I get maybe 1% in an hour or so. In the Task Manager it tells that Android system, Facebook + Messenger are using total of 49% battery.

What I have done already?

I checked every single post and forum I could find. None of them told me any solution. I tried to force stop Messenger + Facebook but yet these apps are listed in the Task Manager. These apps simply won't stop running no matter what. I rarely use Messenger and today I opened once Facebook app for a minute. I'm also sure that these apps aren't left open.

It is weird that:

A) Force stopped app is still running
B) This happens maybe once in two months
C) My cable is fine (it showed it is connected and loading battery the whole time) and suddenly it started loading normally (??)

Any suggestions? I'm not sure if this belongs to here but I hope I get answers here. It seems like nobody even has this phone (Galaxy J5) and therefore only solutions are for phones that have different "Settings"-page and stuff like that.

Perks of having a cheap phone I guess?

Solution
Try starting up the phone in "Safe Mode" and see if you still get the same drain issue. If you don't, then there is something on the phone that is the cause. It doesn't have to be an app, could be malware, virus, etc. If it still happens in "Safe Mode" then you may want to try a "Hard Reset" but that does wipe all data you have on the device.

To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.

1. First turn off the phone.

2. Next press and hold "Power" until you see the manufacturers logo on the screen, then release the power button.

3. "Quickly" press "Volume Down" and hold it for few seconds until you see the message "Safe mode: ON" or something similar.

4. If you wanted disable it, simply repeat the steps above, and you should see...

NOTE: Doing this will clear 'all' the data on your phone, so it is suggested you not choose this option unless you have to, or aren't worried about losing anything on the phone.

Be sure you back up any data you want to keep, to a computer or cloud account, before doing the reset.

To "Hard Reset" the phone...

1. Make sure that the phone is actually powered off.

2. Remove your SD card, if there is one in the device.

3. Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen.

4. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".

5. Next use "Volume Down" button to get to the "wipe data/factory reset" option When in recovery mode the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons are how to can navigate and highlight what option you need.

6. Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.

7. On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected.

8. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the phone.

9. If you took your SD card out in step 2, when the device is up and running again, reinstert the SD card.
