what connection are you trying to use? many new tv's don't have the old coax cable input if that is what you are trying to use.

the tv should have hdmi ports to connect the cable box to. perhaps a new post with some more details of what exactly your are trying ot hook up and how would be helpful

Hard to say without any model numbers, but more than likely, you will need to contact your cable provider and request a digital set top box.
