What have you tried so far ?
what messages or error messages have you recieved?

what operating system ?

most Dell Windows bios updates require connection to mains power (for laptops)

then they restart windows and schedule the update for next reboot

If you are talking about bios update you can go to this link http/dell.to/1lTHx4p punch in the service tag go to drivers select bios & download the latest one. This link http/dell.to/1pSVYTo will guide you in installing the bios.

Do you have a specific reason/need for updating the BIOS? (If not and everything works fine, it's not recommended you update it.)
