I have a Samsung smart tv - but i am having a difficult time connecting headphones to it. there is only hdmi outlets and red a

there is only hdmi outlets and red and white ports for rca. there is a small port to connect a 'transmitter' (very small square hole) do i need bluetooth to connect or does the transmitter and headphones need to be same like a "MEE"
