Hi , i have panasonic th-l42u30m tv and Lg lhd657 home theater , i connect all wire with HDMI arc but i didn’t know how to make the sound come from the home theater , also the HDMI setting doesn’t appear in my tv .

i didn’t try the opticale cable because i have the HDMI , do you recommend that i use the opticale ?

Hi, The HDMI on lg is out, so you can't use it. The tv has audio out L/R (RCA). Connect it to the AUX (L/R) INPUT Connection on lg.

The optical would work too, if available on tv.

The RCA is used in connection with the HDMI, it seems.
"Multi-channel sound
If you wish to enjoy multi-channel sound (e.g. Dolby Digital 5.1ch) via an
Amplifier, connect with HDMI cable and RCA cables (p. 53), and then select
[Home Cinema]"
