I'm trying to connect Monster cable Powerline 2 to a used Kenwood KR820 receiver. The cable won't stay in the unit. Is the cable too thick? Do I have to get Jacks to attach to cable first?

The terminals on your receiver do limit the gauge of wire that you can use. They also have to be long enough so you may not be getting the bare wire far enough into the terminal so that when you turn it to lock the wire in it won't lock. Ironsounds solution would work but if you can just solder the thinner wire to the ends of the monster cable it will be neater and stronger.

Hello... a simple hardware store fix would be, 1) buy 1' of zip cord (lamp cord ) in the size that would fit your reciever. 2) Buy 4 wire nuts to the size of joining the monster cable to the zip cord. 3) cut and strip ends of zip cord as needed. 4) attach wires with the wire nuts.
