i need help with my HDMI cable settings

i need help with my HDMI cable settings because everytime i plug the cable into the laptop i get no audio coming out of the TV nor the laptop , both of the speakers stop working once the cable is plugged into the laptop , i tried the playback thing from control panel "after showing disabled devices and disconnected devices" only have the laptop speakers , headphones & SAMSUNG "which refers to the TV , i've been searching about this for 3 days now but still no one could help me so if anyone can let me know

more info: the TV is samsung LED HD TV
the laptop is HP pavilian g6 , win7 , 64 bit

When the cable is in did you set the TV as default audio device by right clicking?

When the cable is in did you set the TV as default audio device by right clicking?

there is a green circle with a "right" sign in it and the laptop icon there is a green circle with a "phone" sign inside it so when i right click to the samsung icon and select "set as default" nothing happen

there is no audio from the laptop either as long as the cable is plugged in
