I think I have a virus

My friend had told me about uTorrent and that he uses it to download things so I download uTorrent and started downloading a 50ish GB file (supposedly GTA V). I have since deleted uTorrent but whenever I try open Norton now everything just says 'fixing'

https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/796x531q90/922/tkPhyf.jpg

When I try to do anything such as trying to run a scan a message will pop up saying 'Norton has stopped working' and then it will close.
The computer which I newly built as of 2 weeks ago now runs a lot slower and games I could run very well now stutter randomly.

UPDATE:
I have found the virus. It is a SysWOW64 virus and I have tried to remove it but I can't get the trusted installer permissions to work despite watching numerous videos of how to change
permissions. Please Help!

First of all, don't use torrents if you don't know what you are doing, and second of all, Norton itself is malware in my eyes. If you want something to game with uninstall Norton and install Comodo.

Here, run this program called Rkill, it will stop any malware processes it can detect. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/dl/8e09ee5bf739512125e438d72103d87a/56e62c67/windows/security/security-utilities/r/rkill/rkill.com
If you run this, make sure to wait for the box that says you should be able to run normal security programs.

Also I need to know what operating system you are running if that says that something is wrong. (IE windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1, windows 10, Mac OS Yosemite, etc.)

Norton Sucks... Grab Bitdefender for free install and run.

Before you get into the world of pirating software I think you need to understand the risks and and benefits of having a good Anti Virus/ Firewall. Please do the research and understand what your dealing with before attempting to steal possible Trojan filled games.

Exactly! That is a pretty good warning/explanation for why and why not to torrent software.

100% agree, would have said something similar if I were immune to getting replies removed by mods due to off topic text. Kinda hope this one doesn't get removed by you but you never know.

No, it won't.
And it would not have, if you had said exactly the same thing I did.

Download this: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_current/
and install it, make sure to enable the trial or what I say won't work.

When it is installed (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware premium trial) Go to the settings tab and click Detections and Protection on the left. Then click scan archeives and scan for rootkits. (picture here http://i.imgur.com/6uLrFcr.png )
Now go to the scan tab and run a hyper scan. When that finishes remove any detections, and then run a threat scan, and then remove any more detections.
After that install Comodo antivirus (download here: https://antivirus.comodo.com/download/thank-you.php?track=3272&prod=cav-free&af=3272&crc=7b&key5sk1=cc541bb41a3caa308dfc1db77cb66b612be01cda )
While installing make sure to turn off the yahoo thing, and the Comodo secure DNS is your choice, (basically a trade off between faster internet, or a few seconds more load to keep viruses away)
If anything related to Geek Buddy pops up, do not click contact a pro, instead just say you will fix it yourself. Now update your database and do a full scan. While that is going on, in the top right corner, right click the new box that should say secure or at risk, and press advanced view. Now right click it again, highlight antivirus and press On Access. Rigth click it a third time and make sure HIPS is disabled, auto sandbox is enabled, and virusscope is enabled. As a last note, turn on game mode when you are gaming (right clicking the box and pressing game mode to toggle), as it will pause current scans and disable non essential warnings that can interupt your gaming (one of the reasons I like this antivrus) Hope this helps, reply if you have any more problems with this or something else.
