Question from Moose48 : "Laptop overheats and freezes"

Laptops should have fans yes. However I have actually heard of ones that don't. Who the brilliant person behind that choice was I have no idea.

If yours is overheating, before doing anything determine if it is still under warranty. If it is, contact the manufacturer about a repair or replacement. Should the warranty be expired then you can try and do the work yourself or pay someone to do it.

First you need to clean out the inside of the laptop. Dust, debris, etc., gets in and can gunk up things. Also clean the air vents on it.

If it actually has a fan, then you should try the following. If it doesn't have one, then you may need to look into other means to cool it.

If that doesn't help, next is to change the thermal paste on the fan(s). Should that also not fix it, you may need a new fan(s).

As you know, you don't use thermal paste on fans. Things such as CPUs and GPUs do. :D
