Is recording videos more CPU or GPU intensive?

Currently I got
Intel Core i3-4160 with R7 250 and my screen resolution is 1680*1050

All I need it for is recording League of Legends, Dota 2 and Heroes of Newerth videos.

Even though the CPU hands off some of the work to the GPU the CPU still has to manage that handoff, plus the capture/transfer of the now larger video file to the destination drive, folder, and filename plus continue on with any other background processes taking place.

The GPU is not dealing with all of that so I would answer CPU. And willing to learn more from other additional responses.

in your case CPU , but if u had a gtx 600 + and you used shadowplay it would be GPU
