It asking for the previous owners information.

I got a tablet as a gift (secret Santa). It was factory reset but now it says I need the previous owners log in info, except I have no idea how to do it. I ran the serial number and it's clean, there's no owner attached to the number.
How do I reset this so it can be used. I need it [the tablet] for my son's homeschooling.
